Summer Events

Whether it is thrill-seeking adventure you’re after or a relaxing float, the Roaring Fork Valley has it all. With three nearby rivers to choose from, if you’re looking for fun, our local waters are the place to be.

The water levels on the Roaring Fork River are mainly controlled by spring run off, so the time for high water rafting is in spring or early summer. Later in the summer, you can enjoy the Middle Roaring Fork River via inflatable kayaks (aka “Duckies”). The Middle section begins just 15 miles from Aspen and winds 6 miles through the valley floor, featuring beautiful scenery, wildlife and exceptional whitewater. The Roaring Fork River meanders through the valley from Independence Pass until it empties into the Colorado River.
