BasaltBasalt was once merely “that one town near Aspen” for many years, but with their superb collection of shops, restaurants and art galleries, they have become more than just an afternoon getaway, but a town around which to plan an entire vacation. Located at the confluence of the Roaring Fork and the Frying Pan rivers, Basalt may be the best kept fishing secret in the state. The gold medal waters which run up and down the Valley are especially active here. Basalt is also the most centrally located town from which to explore the entire Valley and has a number of great hiking and biking trails nearby. Basalt is also home to a number of excellent events and festivals throughout the Summer. |
