Aspen/Snowmass’s Music Festivals, especially Jazz Aspen Snowmass that attract some of the best names in the business. Every year they consistently bring in Grammy Award winning and emerging talent that you usually only find in a big city. Snowmass also has a weekly concert series on the mountain that brings in great acts to a beautiful outdoor venue. What better way to enjoy live music than outside in the mountains with a picnic? Basalt, Carbondale and Glenwood also have a weekly music series in the summer that features both well known and emerging talent. Free lectures to the public throughout the winter. Some of the biggest names
in the world come to Aspen via the Institute; politicians, Nobel Prize winners,
esteemed academics. Mostly for the adult crowd, but older kids might enjoy some
of the lectures.
